Lewis is Managing Principal and founder of 5 Stone Green Capital. Lewis has more than 27 years of distinguished real estate industry and investment experience.  Prior to forming 5 Stone Green Capital, Lewis spent 22 years at JPMorgan Chase, which included being the Co-Portfolio Manager of the green real estate JPMorgan Urban Renaissance Property Fund and a senior member of the Acquisitions Team at JPMorgan Asset Management (“JPMAM”). 

 

Prior to JPMAM, Lewis served as President of the Chase Community Development Corporation where he held overall management responsibility for the firm's community development lending and investment activities totaling more than $5 billion during his 17-year tenure.  Those activities included providing real estate construction lending and JV equity investments to projects focused on urban revitalization, public/private partnerships, and projects that utilize LIHTC and New Markets Tax Credits.  Prior to joining JPMorgan, Lewis practiced law and worked as an investment banker in public finance. Lewis is recognized nationally for his expertise in green building construction and served as a moderator and panelist at numerous green real estate conferences.

 

Lewis received his JD and MBA from Columbia University and his AB from Harvard University.  He serves on the boards of Mt. Sinai Hospital Center and the Housing Partnership Development Corporation.  Additionally, Lewis serves on the Board of Carver Bancorp, Inc. and Carver Federal Savings Bank. 

 

Previously, Lewis served on the board of the Enterprise Foundation and has served on inner city advisory panels of the Urban Land Institute.  He holds or has held NASD Series 7 and 63 licenses and is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York.  Lewis serves on the Board of Carver Bancorp, Inc. and Carver Federal Savings Bank.

Doug is Managing Principal and founder of 5 Stone Green Capital and has more than 27 years of distinguished real estate industry experience. Prior to forming 5 Stone Green Capital, Doug was the Co-Portfolio Manager of the green real estate Urban Renaissance Property Fund for JPMorgan Asset Management’s Real Estate platform. While at JPMAM he was also a key member of the real estate marketing team serving as a trusted fiduciary to many large pension plans.

 

His strength as a senior asset manager garnered nine international and national awards from BOMA, IREM and NAIOP. Over the course of his career, he managed a large portfolio of industrial, office, multi-family and retail assets totaling millions of square feet and valued in excess of $1 billion while at JPMorgan.

 

Prior to JPMorgan he spent seven years as a senior asset manager for TIAA-CREF’s real estate investment group; he also worked in the public sector as the Asset Manager for the City of Hartford. Earlier in his career, he was a residential developer in the U.S. Southwest.  Doug is a frequent speaker on green building topics.

 

Doug received his MBA from the University of Connecticut in International Business Finance and earned his BA from Yale University. He is or has been a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, Urban Land Institute, National Association of Securities Professionals, National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers and U.S. Green Building Council.

 

Doug sits on the Investment Committee and Natural Resources Committee of the University of Connecticut Foundation, the Advisory Board of Rutgers Business School, the Advisory Board of the Saunders Business School at Rochester Institute of Technology, the Global Board of Directors of the Climate Group and the Sustainability Advisory Board of the publication, the National Real Estate Investor. Doug holds or has held NASD Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Anthony Roberts

Tony Roberts is 5 Stone Green Capital's Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 30 years of experience at the highest levels of American corporate finance.  Tony spent much of his career at TIAA-CREF, holding numerous senior-level management positions at the Fortune 100 financial firm.  For 19 years, he was Manager of TIAA Real Estate Investment Accounting wherein he oversaw investment accounting and regulatory compliance for the firm’s $ 7 billion real estate portfolio, one of the largest real estate investment portfolios in world.

 

In addition to his accounting leadership roles, Mr. Roberts also served as a Special Assistant to John Biggs, the TIAA-CREF Chairman and CEO.  During that time, he authored the primary research that led to TIAA-CREF’s entrance into the 529 college savings market and the launch of its Independent 529 program, which now combines to manage more than six billion dollars in client assets. He has also been responsible for additional product development, and the implementation of data warehousing and reporting for TIAA-CREF’s entire education savings division.

 

Tony has also served as a financial reporting and consultant to numerous businesses, including Aon-Hewitt, JP Morgan Chase, and MunnieMae.  He is a graduate of Pace University and holds or has held NASD Series 6, 63, and 26 licenses.
